Our Journey
1840
The Foundation
Uttam Singh Chhabra (1st Generation) founded our business, initially trading in spices, including saffron. Later, Arjan Singh (2nd Generation) and Manohar Singh (3rd Generation) joined, specializing in saffron and spices, strengthening our legacy.
1965
Launch of Baby Brand Saffron
'Baby Brand Saffron' was registered in 1965, with the idea of our saffron being as pure as the heart of a newborn baby.
1970
Honouring Commitments
Even with huge demand and supply gaps, we honored our clients by maintaining a constant supply. While competitors were canceling orders - we held our commitments, although we had to face huge losses
1975
Pioneered ‘Mongra Saffron’
Indian saffron consumers ONLY used to buy Lachha (with yellow style) and the concept of Mongra was never known.Amarjit Singh Chhabra (4th Generation) started hand-processing Mongra instead of Laccha which substantiated the quality of our product.
1986
Tamper-Proof Boxes
We introduced transparent boxes with tamper-proof protection seals which also developed trust in Baby Brand Saffron's quality. Harpreet Chhabra ( 5th Generation) also joined the business during this time.
1995
Vacuum Packaging
New packaging was started- Vacuum packaging which was the first of its kind. Blister packaging was initiated to protect the product against humidity and other external factors.
2000
Powdered Saffron
Harpreet Singh Chhabra's (5th Generation), vision led to the invention of powdered saffron (Instant Use) for the millennial generation. This seemed like the ideal solution to an age-old spice that needed to be submerged for minutes before use.
2005
Formation of USMS
In Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, Baby Brand Saffron established its 10,000 sq. ft. fully integrated processing and packaging plant, marking the foundation of USMS (Uttam Singh Manohar Singh) and setting a new benchmark in quality and efficiency.
2010
NABL Lab & Store
NABL Govt. accredited in-house lab was inaugurated exclusively for saffron testing. And along with that, we launched India's first exclusive store of saffron in MGF Metropolis Mall, Gurugram.
2015
Neemrana Factory
We launched our second factory in Neemrana, Rajasthan with State of the Art Robotics & Humidity-Controlled Environment spanning over 25,000 Sq. Ft, which ensured that the capacity and quality of the production were well managed.
2017
Launched Gifting Range
The high recall and perceived value of saffron gave us the idea of creating saffron gift boxes. The suede leather boxes represent tradition and bring a touch of royalty to one's gifting experience
2023
Factory Expansion
Expansion to 50,000sq ft fully automated and process controlled factory

Founded the firm called Uttam Singh Arjan Singh which later became Uttam Singh Manohar Singh (USMS), giving birth to the concept of Saffron sale and eventually "Baby Brand Saffron

Arjan Singh Chhabra
Co-Founded USMS, a confident personality and possessed great leadership skills that kept everyone together
1909-1996

Manohar Singh Chhabra
Created trust, confidence and reliability in consumers and a reputation that created the foundation for success for the next generations

Amarjeet Singh Chhabra
Coined the name 'Baby Saffron' and pioneered in innovating the quality by selling only the red part of saffron-Stigma/Mongra

Harpreet Singh Chhabra
Launched the first fully integrated Saffron processing and packaging unit in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh. Invented powdered saffron for the future generation- making its usage instant, unlike saffron threads

Maanavi Chhabra
Launched a Marketing Division for the brand aiming to educate youth about health benefits of saffron. Lead the team to modernise packaging and organise annual team building events.

Avneesh Chhabra
Launched a 25.000 Sq. Ft factory with automation in processing with patented machines. The concept of positioning Saffron as a Healthy lifestyle rather than just a spice

Maanavi Chhabra
